රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ විසින් සිය මැරයින් ලවා ඔහුගේම නිවසට ගිනි කබා ගෙන එයට අරගලකරැවන්ව පැටලවීමට උත්සාහ කල බව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අය පමණක් නොව ජාත්‍යන්තරයද දන්නා කාරණයකි. එතැනින් නොනැවතුනු ඔහු සිරස මාධ්‍යවේදීන් පිරිසකටද මැරයින් යොදවා දරැණු ලෙස පහර දුන්නේ සිය පැරණි කෝන්තරද කෙලවර කරගන්නටය. ඉන්පසු ඔහු එතනින් නොනැවතී ගෝල්ෆේස් අරගලකරැවන්ටද පහර දුන්නේ ඇවන්ගාඩ් හොරා හෙවත් නිශ්ශංක සේනාධිපතිගේ මැරයින් භාව්තා කරමිනි. අරගලකරැවන් පසුදින දහවල් අරගල භූමියෙන් ඉවත් වන බව දන්වා තිබියදී එයට පෙර හමුදාකාරයින් යොදවා මෙසේ පහර දීමෙන් ඔප්පු වන්නේ රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ විසින් සිතා මතා හොදින් සැලසුම් කර මෙම පහර දීම සිදු කල බවයි. ජන බලයක් නොමැති අහසින් ජනපති පුටුවකට කඩා පාත් වූ පණ්ඩකයෙකුට මේ ආකාරයට ජන මතයට අභියෝග කිරීමට ඉඩ දිය නොහැක. එබැවින් මේ පිලිබදව අප ජාත්‍යන්තර මුල්‍ය අරමුදලට දැනුම් දිය යුතුමය. එසේ දැනුම් දීම මගින් රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහගේ අත්තනෝමතික ක්‍රියාකාරකම් පාලනය කරවීම ජාත්‍යන්තර ප්‍රජාව ලවා සිදු කිරීමට අපට හැකි වනු ඇත. මේ සඳහා ඔබ කල යුත්තේ පහත ඉංග්‍රිසි බසින් දක්වා ඇති ලිපිය කොපි කර මෙහි පහතම දක්වා ඇති ඊමේල් ලිපිනයන් වෙත යැවීමයි.
Sub: Requesting immediate measures to be taken against Sri Lanka’s newly appointed President Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe for attacking and arresting of peaceful protesters
Dear Sir / Madam,
It was also reported through the international media that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe, who is currently the President of Sri Lanka, recently used military personnel to attack citizens who were protesting peacefully. Before the attack, we observed that the President met with a group of soldiers, thanked them in a special way and encouraged them indirectly to use violence against the protesters. Then, on the day after the swearing-in of the President, the army troops arrived at the peaceful protestors in the Galleface area in the morning and started attacking them. We were able to see from the photos how inhuman the attacks were. The current President Ranil Wickremesinghe has ordered such an attack on this place and the chief police officer named Deshabandu Tennakoon has executed that order without considering any legal background.
In this attack, a journalist of BBC media was brutally beaten. Despite his repeated sayings that he was a BBC journalist, the Sri Lankan Army troops continuously attacked him at that time. And the Sri Lankan military personnel involved in this attack had also attacked many other journalists and many civilians. That became known through video and photos from social media.
Moreover, these soldiers also prevented the hospitalization of the attacked people after the attack. The soldiers attacked the protesters with sticks and the photos of protestors who were seriously injured due to such attacks were also circulated on social media. Since this attack took place less than 24 hours after the swearing in of the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe, it is clear that this was done on the direct instructions of Ranil Wickremesinghe to take advantage of it and disperse the protesters.
After these attacks, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has imposed the emergency law at this moment. The passing of emergency law gives the police and the Sri Lankan military the ability to arrest anyone at any time without any kind of Court order. Also, the police and the army have the ability to arrest and detain them for any length of time without bringing them to court. So this is a serious situation. Ranil Wickremasinghe is currently ordering to arrest multiple protestors at this moment.
Therefore, through this letter, I kindly request from you to take the maximum possible measures against the President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Also, since the Sri Lankan army has involved in this attack and it has been reported internationally that the Sri Lankan army had violated international law before, I also request you to take the international measures against the Sri Lankan army.
